For thirteen years, my grandmother lived with my husband, our two children, and me. Having her close as she grew older gave me a firsthand look at what families face as parents and grandparents age—the planning, the transitions, and the emotional decisions that come with it.
That experience is why I do this work today. As a Senior Loan Officer, Certified Reverse Mortgage Specialist (NMLS #2040727) with NEXA Lending, and a senior myself, I am deeply committed to serving our aging community. A Marin native now living in Sonoma County, I help homeowners aged 62 and older put their home equity to work so they can comfortably age in place.
Addressing Misconceptions Directly
Most people don’t reject reverse mortgages because they’ve looked closely at how they work today. They reject them because someone they trusted—a friend, an article, or an advisor from another era—told them reverse mortgages were a bad idea years ago when the rules were entirely different.
I address that elephant in the room directly. Sometimes a reverse mortgage is the right fit; sometimes selling, downsizing, or another financial tool makes more sense. My job is to walk you through your options honestly using plain, unhurried language—just like I would for my own parents.
